Did you know that

You will have the chance to see one of the oldest monuments in the world. The Colosseum also known as Amphiteatrum Flavium, is the largest amphitheater in the world, it represents the heart of Rome. It was originally able to hold between 50,000 and 87,000 spectators. The amphitheater was built during the Flavian dynasty. Construction began with Vespasian in 71/72 AD. and completed by Titus in 80 AD Soon, the building became a symbol of the imperial city, an expression of an ideology in which the will to celebrate comes to define models for the leisure and entertainment of the people. The amphitheater is located on an area at the eastern edge of the Roman Forum, which was often used as a theater for events and as an institution from which the political, legal, cultural and philosophical foundations of Western thought derive. The Forò was also subject to looting and changes in use destinations. Today the area of the Roman Forum has become, with the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill, one of the most illustrious and visited archaeological sites in the world.
