Our dear friend tour guide Arianna F. tells us this beautiful story: The villa was built in 1550 by Cardinal Ippolito d’Este then governor of the city of Tivoli, son of Lucrezia Borgia, daughter of Pope Alessandro Borgia … a man descended from one of the most culturally and artistically illustrious families, the Este of Ferrara, center of humanism and civilization. Through this unique experience we have managed to touch the beauty of this villa with paintings, frescoes, dizzying grotesques, an unheard of opulence deriving from a very elegant taste.
Going down to the ground floor you can hear the rush of water with the many fountains, one more beautiful and elegant than the other designed by Pirro Ligorio.
Closing your eyes you imagine being in the 16th century with a dip in a feeling of well-being, many sketches everywhere … it is even said that outside beds were placed in the summer to rest the day.
